STuF: ...A question I have been wondering for a long
time, this may sound a bit silly for the first question,
but are there any pictures of you guys online? Are
there any pictures of you guys at all?
DREDG: I'm sure you can find some, somewhere. If it
was up to us we would have none.
KS:
Who would you guys prefer to go on tour with? Would
you rather get a small band and headline or open for
a larger band?
D: Anything's good, as long as we can play a lot of
good shows with a good crowd. Getting along with the
other band is always good, but that's normally easy.
KS:
Who paints all the paintings?
D: That would be Drew.
KS:
Let's talk about the new record. I heard that you
guys finished most of your new songs, and will soon
record them... Can you tell me the new song names?
And, is the new album going to be a concept album?
D: Song names are still in the works. The album will
have a concept. The goal is to have a different format
as to how we present that concept, not like 'Leitmotif'.
KS:
Any guest appearances?
D: As of now, no.
KS:
Who are you guys looking at right now, to produce
the first major release?
D: Unfortunately we are still deciding, so it would
be unfair to name names.
KS:
What various instruments will be used on the new record?
D: We'll try to play with lots of ideas, without going
overboard of course. As for specifics, who knows?
What ever sounds good.
KS:
Will we get something surprising from the new record
or will it continue where 'Leitmotif' left off?
D: We have been trading ideas for this record since
we walked out of the 'Leitmotif' sessions. So, normalcy
to us could be a surprise to listeners, or boring
crap. It will definitely be a proggression as should
every record a band puts out. At the same time it
will be completely dredg.
KS:
Any names for the record, yet? Or is it way way way
too early to say? And what exactly is 'Leitmotif the
Film'? Are you guys making a home video or am I really
stupid, and that is the name of the record? (laughs)
D: Too early for titles. The film is a silent film
that Drew is working on. It will basically be a visual
representation of 'Leitmotif'.
KS:
Is there any chance of re-releasing your first album,
'Orph'?
D: No. That's behind us now musically. It was great
and captured a moment in 1997 for us, but we had just
begun to grow then.
KS:
Also, are you guys friends with Papa Roach and Alien
Ant Farm? If so, how did that happen? I know that
you guys are all from the California area. Did you
guys play shows together before P-Roach made it big?
D: Yeah! We love all those guys. We started playing
with P-Roach back in... I think 1997. It was two bands
doing their thing. Similar in message and a little
different musically, but we clicked. (Alien) Ant Farm
more recently. We just became friends from shows;
did a mini-tour with them and have kept in touch ever
since. Good people.
KS:
If you can name your favorite 5 albums of all-time
off of your head, what would it be?
D: Wow. The question... Since there is four of us
and we all have a different top five, I'm afraid I
can't answer that.
KS:
What is each member currently listening to?
D: Nothing! We're sick of music
